APPLIED REPERTORY
Applied Repertory by Dr. Devika Jamdar has been called the 'bible of homeopathy', and followed by physicians in many European countries, U.S. and Australia. It was inaugurated by the then Education Minister Mr. Vilasrao Deshmukh with excellent reviews from the British Homeopathic Journal and the American National Centre of Homeopathy. The critics say her work has a clinical approach as opposed to Kent and Boeninghausen - whose works on homeopathy are anatomically arranged for physicians. It has created a useful tool for homeopathic doctors by streamlining the repertory, the homeopath’s most essential instrument in making drug diagnosis accurate and easy - according to renowned Indian homeopath Dr. Batra.
Applied Repertory book reviews:
By The British Homeopathic Journal, Volume 80 Reviewed by D.T.H. Williams:
How can one do justice in a review to such major work as this? Certainly remarks here are coupled with admiration for the courage to attempt the enormous task of conceiving and constructing a new type of repertory. It can be regarded as a definite attempt to bring up to date the language of repertory- something for which homeopaths are frequently criticized. I began to review in an antagonistic frame of mind, being firmly wedded to my Kent’s Repertory. However, as I read..I am warmed to the concept. The Applied Repertory will honourably sit on the shelf alongside Kent’s. It is a real attempt to consider how we repertorize from a twentieth century stand point.
Has Dr. Aggarwal (Jamdar) succeeded in producing a new and useful tool for the modern homeopath?
I believe so.

This is another new repertory that I saw when I was in Australia in June. A number of the homeopaths there use it and find it easier than the Kent Repertory.
..the author states that the ideal in homeopathy is to”...treat the WHOLE. The author, in the introduction, identifies the steps involved while researching for a remedy. It was designed to make it easier...the book could be an invaluable resource.
Foreword by Dr. Mukesh Batra
After Dr. Hahneman, there has been little involvement of a “put to use” system in the practice of homeopathy. It is therefore the credit of young Dr. Aggarwal (Jamdar) that she should have devoted time and effort to streamline the repertory, the homeopath’s most essential instrument in making drug diagnosis accurate and easy.
Dr. Jamdar has succeeded in putting the principle and practice in the light of modern medicine without in any way compromising its philosophy. The Applied Repertory fills a felt need. I am sure this volume will find a place in every practitioner’s book shelf.
Comments by Dr. K.M.Dhawle
“Dr. Devika Jamdar has been able to look at the area of Homeopathic Medical Practice afresh. The book allows the physician to apply the philosophy of Homeopathy in practice. It fills the gap between the thinking of a clinician and the existing construction of various repertories.”
